Shèn Jīng Cǎo (Kidney Essence Herb) is a Chinese medicinal herb. It is the tuber of Habenaria ciliolaris Kraenzl., a plant of the Orchidaceae family. It is also known as “Shèn Jīng Cǎo” (Kidney Meridian Herb) in traditional Chinese medicine. It is a medicinal substance primarily used for tonifying the kidneys.

Indications
Kidney Deficiency-Related Conditions: Kidney-deficiency lumbago (lower back pain due to kidney deficiency), spermatorrhea, and impotence. Damp-Heat Strangury Patterns: Heat strangury (burning and stinging pain during urination) and abnormal leukorrhea (vaginal discharge). Surgical Conditions and External Injuries: Boils, sores, and toxic swellings, as well as venomous snake bites.

Usage & Dosage
Oral Administration: It may be taken as a decoction, or used in combination with other herbs such as Cherokee Rose Fruit (Jīn Yīng Zǐ), Polygonatum Rhizome (Huáng Jīng), and Rehmannia Root (Shú Dì).
