Pieris rapae (Linnaeus)
Aliases：Bái Hú Dié (White Butterfly), Fěn Dié (Powder Butterfly), Cài Bái Dié (Cabbage White Butterfly).
Bái Fěn Dié is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried adult body of Pieris rapae (Linnaeus), an insect belonging to the family Pieridae. The adult white butterfly has a body length of approximately 18 mm and a wingspan of 45–65 mm. The head is small, with blackish-brown, round, protruding compound eyes; the mouthparts are of the siphoning type; the labial palps are particularly well-developed; and the antennae are club-shaped. The thorax is black, covered with grey long hairs interspersed with fine white hairs. In females, the greyish-black area at the base of the wings occupies nearly half of the wing, with triangular black spots at the wing tips; in males, the greyish-black area is confined to the wing base, and the black spots at the wing tips are lighter. Female butterflies are generally darker and more distinctly colored than males. The legs are slender; the abdomen is small, slightly pointed at the tip, and densely covered with white scales.
