Modern Pharmacology
Currently, there are few systematic modern pharmacological research reports on Zōng Yè Gǒu Wěi Cǎo. Based on available data, it is speculated that this herb may exert its Qi-supplementing and prolapse-lifting effects by supplementing the middle Qi and raising Yang, thereby improving conditions such as rectal prolapse and uterine prolapse. Folk applications also suggest that the whole plant has heat-clearing, diuretic, detoxifying, and tissue-regenerating activities. However, the specific mechanisms of action require further investigation.
