Cí Wū (Jackdaw) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the whole body or meat of the Jackdaw (Corvus monedula Linnaeus), an animal belonging to the family Corvidae. The Jackdaw is approximately 30 cm in body length, with a stout, black beak. The nape, sides of the neck, upper back, chest, and abdomen are pale greyish-white, while the rest of the body is black. The crown, hind crown, inner wing coverts, and flight feathers have a purplish sheen, while the remaining feathers shimmer with a greenish-blue iridescence. The sides of the head and body feathers are interspersed with fine white streaks. The iris is dark brown; the tarsi, toes, feet, and claws are all black.
