Rhacophorus leucomystax(Gravenhorst)

Shè Niào Chóng Lìng is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried whole body of Rhacophorus leucomystax (Gravenhorst), an animal belonging to the genus Rhacophorus of the family Rhacophoridae.

Resolves stasis and stops bleeding; promotes bone healing and repairs sinews.
Indications
Indicated for traumatic bleeding, traumatic injuries, and bone fractures.
Modern Pharmacology
Hemostatic effects: Animal experiments have shown that when the femoral artery of a pig was half-sectioned transversely, local application of the powder stopped the bleeding within 30 seconds. In one clinical case, a 5-year-old boy with a 4 cm wound on his left forehead, which had reached the skull and was bleeding profusely, had the bleeding stopped immediately after treatment with the tree frog powder; the wound healed completely after 5 days.
