Agkistrodon acutus（Güenther）
Bái Huā Shé Mù Jīng is a traditional Chinese medicinal material derived from the eye of the long-noded pit viper (Agkistrodon acutus (Güenther)), also known as the sharp-snouted pit viper, five-step snake, or Qi snake, belonging to the family Viperidae. This medicinal material was first recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica (Bencao Gangmu).

Indications
Indicated for infantile night crying. Puji Fang (Universal Prescriptions) records: "To treat infantile night crying, grind one eye into powder, mix with a small amount of bamboo juice, and administer orally."
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: grind into powder and take a small amount each time with water.

For infantile night crying (Puji Fang) Take one eyeball of the white‑spotted snake, grind it into fine powder, and mix with a small amount of bamboo sap. Administer orally.
