Dongchuanhao is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried whole herb of Artemisia mairei Lévl. (also known as Artemisia mairei H. Lév.), a plant belonging to the genus Artemisia of the family Asteraceae. It was first recorded in the Yunnan Seed Plants Directory (Yunnan Zhongzi Zhiwu Minglu).
Efficacy & Actions
Removes damp‑heat, disperses wind and relieves depression, and promotes diaphoresis and diuresis.
Indications
Damp‑heat encumbering the Spleen pattern, wind‑heat external contraction pattern, exterior pattern with internal water‑dampness retention.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 6–9 g. For topical application: appropriate amount.
