Dà Huáng Fēng Zǐ is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the larva of Polistes mandarinus Sauss. (also known as Polistes manelarinus Sauss.), an insect belonging to the genus Polistes of the family Vespidae. It was first recorded in Shennong Bencao Jing (The Divine Farmer's Materia Medica).
