Aliases:Sōu Shān Hǔ (literally "Search Mountain Tiger"), Zhú Yè Qī (literally "Bamboo Leaf Seven"), Jiǎn Dāo Qī (literally "Scissors Seven"), Duì Kǒu Jiǎn (literally "Matching Cut"); also known as Qī Jīn Gū (literally "Seven Tendon Maiden") and Lán Guǒ Qī Jīn Gū (literally "Blue‑Fruited Seven Tendon Maiden"). (These are all alternative names for Léi Gōng Qī, i.e., the herb of Common Broadlily, Clintonia udensis.)
Léi Gōng Qī (Lei Gong Qi) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the whole herb or root of Clintonia udensis Trautv. et Mey., a plant belonging to the genus Clintonia of the family Liliaceae. It commonly grows in sparse forests on high mountains or on sunny slopes at altitudes of 1,600–4,000 meters. It is recorded in Shaanxi Zhongcaoyao (Shaanxi Chinese Herbal Medicine).

Modern pharmacological studies have shown that Lei Gong Qi possesses hemolytic activity, with a hemolytic index of 200–400.
Ingredients
The medicinal source is the whole herb or root of Clintonia udensis Trautv. et Mey., a plant belonging to the family Liliaceae. Traditional Chinese medicine databases indicate that it contains Heloniogenin, Helveticoside, and other components.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 3–6 g of the whole herb; or 0.3–1 g of the root, steeped in wine. According to the traditional Chinese weight system, this corresponds to 1–2 qian (approximately 1 qian ≈ 3.75 g). For topical application: take an appropriate amount of fresh herb, mash it, and apply externally. For powder form: grind into powder and take 0.3–0.6 g each time, mixed with a blend of white wine and water for oral administration.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with Spleen deficiency and loose stools. Contraindicated during pregnancy. Overdose may cause diarrhea and vomiting. Should be used alone and should not be combined with other herbs.
Selected Formulas
or sore throat (empirical formula) Take an appropriate amount of fresh goose saliva, swallow it slowly directly, 3-5 times daily. For infantile thrush (oral candidiasis) (Bencao Gangmu) Take goose saliva, mix with a small amount of Huanglian (Coptis) powder, and apply to the affected area, 2-3 times daily. For dry pharyngitis and hoarseness (empirical formula) Take goose saliva mixed with honey, 5mL each time, hold in the mouth and swallow slowly, several times daily. For swelling and pain from insect bites (empirical formula) Take goose saliva and apply to the red and swollen area to reduce swelling and relieve itching.
