Rhizoma Cyrtomii Macrophylli
Aliases：Yán Biān Qī (literally "Seven on the Cliff"), Xiǎo Guàn Zhòng (literally "Small Guan Zhong"), and Tiě Dīng Pá (literally "Iron Nail Rake"). (These are alternative names for Huà Yào, i.e., Cyrtomium macrophyllum.)
Huà Yào is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried rhizome of Cyrtomium macrophyllum (Makino) Tagawa, a plant belonging to the family Dryopteridaceae. It commonly grows under forests, beside streams, or under bushes at altitudes of 1,200–3,500 meters.

Clears heat, removes toxicity, invigorates blood, stops bleeding, and expels parasites.
Indications
Burns and scalds, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis (abnormal uterine bleeding in women), leukorrhea (abnormal vaginal discharge caused by gynecological inflammation, etc.), traumatic injuries, and ascariasis (roundworm infection).
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 9–15 g. For topical application: appropriate amount, mashed for application; or ground into powder and mixed with a suitable base for application.
Contraindications
Use with caution in patients with Spleen‑Stomach deficiency‑cold.
