Indications
Lung‑heat cough, pulmonary tuberculosis with difficult expectoration, scrofula (tuberculous lymphadenitis), pneumonia, and lung‑heat with wheezing and cough.
Modern Pharmacology
Clearing heat and moistening the lungs: Traditionally used for respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and lung‑heat cough. Anti‑inflammatory effects: Used in Tibetan medicine for various types of pneumonia and pulmonary diseases. Hypotensive effects (blood pressure‑lowering effects). Anti‑hypoxic effects: As a high‑altitude wild plant, it exhibits certain anti‑hypoxic activity.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 6–15 g. For use in Tibetan medicinal formulas: often used in compound prescriptions.
Contraindications
Contraindicated or use with caution in patients with Spleen‑Stomach deficiency‑cold.

For lung-heat cough and difficult expectoration in pulmonary tuberculosis (empirical formula) Take 6-15g of Gaoyuan Zaozhui (Arenaria roborowskii), decoct in water and drink. For pneumonia and pulmonary tuberculosis (empirical formula) Take the whole plant of Gaoyuan Zaozhui, used alone or in combination with other herbs.
