Aliases：Wèi Yào (literally "Stomach Medicine"), Mǎ Shì Zǐ Huā (literally "Ma's Purple Flower" — named after the plant's discoverer or collector), and Bái Huā Àn Xiāo (literally "White-Flowered Dark Disperser"). (These are all alternative names for Jú Huā Àn Xiāo, i.e., the root of Aster vestitus / Hairy Aster Root, commonly used for stomach pain and rheumatism.)
Jú Huā Àn Xiāo (Chrysanthemum Dark Disperser) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the root of Aster vestitus Franch. [syn. A. mairei Levl.; A. sherrifianus Hand.-Mazz.], a plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. It grows under coniferous forests, on open slopes, or along hillside roadsides at altitudes of 2,300–4,000 meters.

Indications
It is commonly used for wind‑cold common cold, rheumatic arthralgia, and stomach pain (epigastric pain).
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 5–10 g; or grind into powder.
Selected Formulas
For common cold and rheumatic pain (empirical formula) Take 9g of Juhua Anxiao (a local herb), decoct in water and drink. For stomach pain, gastric and duodenal ulcers (empirical formula) Take 1.5g of the root powder, take with brown sugar water; or take 6g of the root, decoct in water and drink.
