Hóng Ruì Mù Guǒ (Red Twig Dogwood Fruit) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the fruit of Swida alba Opiz (also known as Cornus alba L.), a plant belonging to the family Cornaceae.

It is mainly used for low back pain due to Kidney deficiency, and general weakness with emaciation.
Modern Pharmacology
Antioxidant effect: Modern studies have shown that the polysaccharides in the fruit of Swida alba are natural and effective antioxidants. Within a certain concentration range, their ability to scavenge free radicals increases with concentration. Other potential effects: The fruit, bark, branches, and leaves of Swida alba have also been reported to have effects such as clearing heat, removing toxicity, stopping dysentery, and stopping bleeding. Modern research has found that it contains flavonoids, polysaccharides, glycosides, and other components, exhibiting antibacterial, enzyme-inhibitory, and anticancer pharmacological activities.
