Duì Yè Róng (Opposite-leaved Fig) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the root, leaf, fruit, and bark of Ficus hispida L. f., a plant belonging to the family Moraceae.

Antitumor effects; Hypoglycemic effects; Hepatoprotective effects; Anti‑ulcer effects: The methanol extract of its root exhibits inhibitory effects against gastric ulcers; Anti‑inflammatory and antipyretic effects.
Ingredients
Studies have shown that Duì Yè Róng contains alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and other components. Ten compounds were isolated from the 95% methanol extract of the leaves and twigs of Ficus hispida, and identified as: α-Stigmastanol Decane Lutein Ursolic acid Stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside 7-Hydroxycoumarin Vanillic acid Oleanolic acid-28-O-α-D-glucopyranoside Isocorydine — isolated from this plant for the first time Protopine — isolated from this plant for the first time In addition, compounds such as vanillic acid, stigmasterol, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid, syringic acid, quercetin, and rutin have also been isolated from the stem bark of Duì Yè Róng.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 15–30 g. Fruit: 5–15 g.
Contraindications
Eating the raw syconium (fig) may cause poisoning. Contraindicated during pregnancy. The fruit is slightly toxic and should be used under the guidance of a physician.
Selected Formulas
For fatigue and weakness due to overwork (Fujian Materia Medica) Take 30-60g of the root or stem of Duiye Rong (Ficus hispida), and 1 dried cuttlefish (with bone). Decoct in water until the cuttlefish is cooked, then add an appropriate amount of yellow wine and take. For axillary sores (Lingnan Caicai Lu) Take the fruits and leaves of Duiye Rong, crush them, and apply externally.
