Pumpkin and Millet Porridge
Pumpkin and millet porridge is a traditional nourishing porridge made with millet and pumpkin. Pumpkin, warm in nature and sweet in taste, tonifies the middle qi and strengthens the spleen and stomach. Millet, slightly cool in nature, strengthens the spleen, harmonizes the stomach, and replenishes deficiency. Together, they create a golden, thick, and sweet porridge that is gentle on digestion – often called the "number one porridge for strengthening the spleen and stomach." It is especially suitable for those with weak digestion, poor appetite, or post-illness recovery.

Main Ingredients
- Millet 100g
- Pumpkin 200g
- Water 1500-2000ml
- Goji berries to taste
- Rock sugar to taste
Steps
Peel and deseed the pumpkin, cut into approx. 2cm chunks. Rinse the millet gently twice (soak for 20-30 minutes if desired to shorten cooking time).

Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add the millet and pumpkin chunks. Bring to a boil again, then reduce to low heat.

Simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pumpkin is soft, the millet grains have burst open, and the porridge thickens. (For a smoother texture, steam the pumpkin and mash it before adding.)

Add goji berries and rock sugar (if using) 5 minutes before serving. Stir well and serve warm.
