TCM Notes

Honeysuckle & Chrysanthemum: Working in tandem, they effectively clear summer heat, dispel wind-heat and brighten the eyes. They offer good relief for “excessive internal heat” symptoms such as wind-heat cold, sore throat and red swollen eyes. Hawthorn Berry: Promotes digestion and relieves stagnation, especially meat stagnation; it also activates blood circulation and unblocks vessels. Honey: Harmonizes all herbal ingredients, tonifies the middle energizer and moistens dryness, making the drink milder in taste and medicinal property. This beverage is especially suitable as a summer health drink for people with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease and similar conditions.

Suitable forPeople suffering from summer heat with fever, restlessness, thirst and dizziness. Those with red swollen eyes, sore throat and boils caused by excessive internal heat. People with greasy diet, indigestion and poor appetite. Individuals requiring daily health care, such as those with hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

Not suitable forPeople with deficient-cold spleen and stomach: recurring abdominal pain, diarrhea, cold intolerance and loose stools. The cold-natured honeysuckle and chrysanthemum may aggravate gastrointestinal discomfort. Pregnant women: The drink is cold in nature. Some ingredients may exert mild effects on the uterus; consumption should be cautious or avoided. Patients with wind-cold cold: Caused by cold exposure, marked by cold intolerance and clear runny nose; not suitable for this drink. Menstruating women, especially those with heavy menstrual flow. Avoid drinking to prevent aggravated blood stasis due to cold.
