Mulberry and Black Sesame Paste
Mulberry and Black Sesame Paste is a classic traditional Chinese wellness paste, made with mulberries and black sesame seeds as the main ingredients, combined with rice or glutinous rice, ground and cooked to perfection. Mulberries are cold in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and channel to the Heart, Liver, and Kidney meridians. They are known for nourishing yin and blood, promoting salivation and moistening dryness, and tonifying the liver and kidney. Black sesame seeds are neutral in nature, sweet in taste, and channel to the Liver, Kidney, and Large Intestine meridians. They are known for tonifying the liver and kidney, nourishing the five viscera, and benefiting essence and blood. Together, mulberries nourish yin and blood, while black sesame seeds tonify the kidney and essence, achieving the combined effects of nourishing the liver and kidney, nourishing blood and moistening dryness, darkening hair and brightening the eyes, and benefiting intelligence and preventing aging. The finished paste is dark, glossy, and smooth, with the rich aroma of sesame perfectly balanced by the subtle sweetness of mulberries. This paste is especially suitable for daily nourishment of those with liver-kidney yin deficiency, essence-blood deficiency, premature greying, dizziness and blurred vision, and constipation due to intestinal dryness.
