Apple puree (applesauce)

Apple puree (applesauce) is a delicate fruit puree made primarily from fresh apples, prepared by scraping, steaming, or blending. Apples are sweet and slightly sour in taste, cool in nature, and channel to the Spleen and Stomach meridians. They are known for promoting salivation, quenching thirst, clearing heat, relieving restlessness, strengthening the spleen, stopping diarrhea, and moistening the intestines. Apple puree has a fine texture that retains the nutritional components of apples while being easier to digest and absorb. Apples have a bidirectional regulatory effect — they can both relieve mild diarrhea and promote bowel movements. Apple puree is especially suitable as baby food, and for those with indigestion, mild diarrhea, or constipation.
