Aliases:Min, Da Tou Yu (literally "Big Head Fish"), Da Tou Xing (literally "Big Head Fishy"), and Da Kou (literally "Big Mouth"). (These are all alternative names for Xue Yu, i.e., Cod / Pacific Cod.)
Xue Yu (Cod) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the meat of Gadus macrocephalus (Tilesius), a fish belonging to the family Gadidae.

Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: cooked and eaten, in appropriate amounts. For topical application: grind into powder, mix with water, and apply externally in appropriate amounts.
Contraindications
Consuming cod with cured meat: This combination may synthesize nitrosamines (carcinogens) in the gastrointestinal tract. Contraindicated in patients with gout or hyperuricemia. Should not be consumed in excess by those with Spleen‑Stomach deficiency‑cold. Contraindicated in individuals allergic to cod. Should be avoided by those with seafood allergies or gout. Patients with hyperthyroidism should control their intake.
