Related Conditions

Visceral patterns (Zang-fu symptoms): When the triple energizer is diseased, the upper energizer tends to show vexation, oppression in the chest, palpitations, and cough. Pathological changes in the middle energizer easily lead to distension and pain in the stomach and spleen, and loss of appetite. When the lower energizer is affected, symptoms such as edema, enuresis (bedwetting), and constipation may occur. Meridian patterns (Jing-luo symptoms): When the Triple Energizer Meridian is obstructed, it may easily give rise to epigastric pain, abdominal distension, belching, inability to eat, nausea and vomiting, difficult urination, vexation, heart pain, and insomnia.

Daily Care

As the largest fu organ among the six fu organs, the triple energizer has the function of governing all qi and dredging the water passages. During the Hai hour (9:00–11:00 p.m.), the triple energizer connects with all the meridians. Sleeping at this time allows all the meridians to rest and recuperate, which is greatly beneficial to the body. Therefore, it is essential to maintain a calm and peaceful mind during this period. Do not get angry, do not be overly ecstatic, and do not grieve excessively. If you harbor resentment, hold in anger, or lose your temper, and the anger remains unresolved even by 11:00 p.m., you will surely feel listless and dispirited the next day. The Triple Energizer Meridian mainly distributes along the head, neck, and the lateral aspect of the arm. Before falling asleep during the Hai hour, while watching television or listening to music, gently pat the Triple Energizer Meridian. This is very beneficial for the movement of water and food, body fluids, and the primordial qi.
