Indications

Precise Location
Dahe is located in the lower abdomen. Draw a line from the umbilicus to the superior border of the pubic symphysis and divide it into five equal parts – the point is at the 4/5 point from the umbilicus downward, 0.5 cun lateral to the anterior midline on both sides.
Location Method
Lie supine with one palm on the abdomen, palm inward, thumb on the umbilicus – the point is where the ring finger rests (approximately 4 cun below the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to the midline).
Massage Method
Gently press and knead with the four fingers of both hands – once each morning and evening for 3–5 minutes. Therapeutic actions: Nourishes the kidney and assists yang, regulates menstruation and stops leukorrhea, regulates the lower jiao.
Compatibility
Male infertility: Combine with Zhishi (BL-52), Zhongji (RN-3), and Dahe (KI-12). Disease overview: Infertility is the inability to achieve a live birth – although conception may occur, it ends in miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, or fetal death; or the embryo/fetus fails to develop properly after implantation. Massage sequence: Couples can massage each other – persist daily for best results. In prone position, press Zhishi (3 cun lateral to the 2nd lumbar spinous process) for 3 minutes, then massage Zhongji and Dahe for 3 minutes each. Leukorrhea: Combine with Shenshu (BL-23), Daimai (GB-26), Dadun (LR-1), Zhongji (RN-3), and Dahe (KI-12). Uterine prolapse: Combine with Qihai (RN-6), Zhongji (RN-3), Dahe (KI-12), Guilai (ST-29), Xuehai (SP-10), and Baihui (GV-20). Prostatitis, impotence, premature ejaculation: Combine with Pangguangshu (BL-28), Taichong (LR-3), and Guanyuan (RN-4). Irregular menstruation and dysmenorrhea: Combine with Guanyuan (RN-4), Sanyinjiao (SP-6), and Xuehai (SP-10).

It is a commonly used key point for treating male and female reproductive and urinary system disorders. First documented in Zhenjiu Jiayijing. "Da" means great; "He" means radiance or brilliance. Located in the lower abdomen, where Kidney Meridian qi is great and brilliant – hence the name Dahe (Great Radiance). It is also known as "Yingguan."
