Indications
Nephritis, cystitis, hernia, difficult urination, enuresis, manic disorders, shin pain, lower limb flaccidity/bi-syndrome, and hyperuricemia (gout).
Precise Location
Located on the Kidney Meridian, on the medial side of the lower leg, on the line connecting Taixi (KI-3) and Yingu (KI-10), 5 cun above Taixi, at the medial and inferior aspect of the gastrocnemius muscle belly.
Location Method
Sit upright with feet on the floor. Place one foot on the opposite knee. Lightly hold with the other hand, four fingers on the dorsum – the point is where the thumb pad presses.
Massage Method
Push and knead from bottom to top with the thumb pad – a sore sensation will occur. Apply to both sides once each morning and evening for 1–3 minutes. Therapeutic actions: Regulates the lower jiao, dissipates heat and cools the body, detoxifies and resolves turbidity, regulates qi and relieves pain.

Nephritis: Combine with Shenshu (BL-23), Ganshu (BL-18), Shuidao (ST-28), Jingmen (GB-25), Yinlingquan (SP-9), Sanyinjiao (SP-6), Yanggu (SI-5), and Zhubin (KI-9). Disease overview: Nephritis has many types – primary glomerulonephritis and secondary glomerulonephritis; classified by duration as acute and chronic nephritis (chronic glomerulonephritis). Primary includes acute nephritis, chronic nephritis, and nephrotic syndrome; secondary includes purpura nephritis, lupus nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, and hypertensive nephropathy. Massage sequence: Massage Shenshu, Ganshu, Shuidao, Jingmen, Yinlingquan, Sanyinjiao, Yanggu, and Zhubin in sequence. Massive abdominal edema: Combine with Shimen (RN-5), Shenque (RN-8), and Zhubin (KI-9). Hernia: Combine with Dadun (LR-1), Zhubin (KI-9), and Futu (ST-32).
Efficacy & Actions
The Suwen · Ci Yaotong Lun states: "Needle the Feiyang (Flying Yang) vessel, 5 cun above the medial malleolus, anterior to Shaoyin, at the meeting with the Yin Wei Vessel." This refers to Zhubin. Zhubin is a major detoxification point, playing an important role in protecting the liver and kidneys. Those who frequently take Western medications can benefit from massaging Zhubin to help dissolve toxins. Additionally, massaging Zhubin is helpful for nephritis and hyperuricemia. This point belongs to the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian and is the meeting point of the Kidney Meridian and the Yin Wei Vessel, as well as the Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Wei Vessel. It regulates the lower jiao, dissipates heat and cools the body, regulates qi and relieves pain, and detoxifies and resolves turbidity. It is a commonly used key point for treating kidney, bladder, and metabolic disorders. First documented in Zhenjiu Jiayijing. "Zhu" means to build or consolidate; "Bin" means guest or to submit. Located on the medial lower leg, as the Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Wei Vessel, qi deeply converges here like a consolidated mansion – hence the name Zhubin (Guest of the Mansion).
