Efficacy & Actions
This point belongs to the Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian and is the Luo-Connecting point of this meridian, branching to the Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian. It clears heat and drains dampness, relaxes the sinews and unblocks the collaterals, calms the spirit and stabilizes the mind. It is a commonly used point for treating lumbar, back, and upper limb disorders. First documented in Lingshu · Jingmai. "Zhi" means branch or to diverge; "Zheng" means the main meridian. As the Luo-Connecting point of the Small Intestine Meridian, qi branches from here to the Heart Meridian – it is a branch of the main meridian – hence the name Zhizheng (Branch Correcting).
