Efficacy & Actions

This point belongs to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian. It soothes the chest and regulates qi, unblocks the collaterals and relieves pain, and disperses lung qi and stops cough. It is a commonly used point for treating chest and respiratory system disorders. First documented in Zhenjiu Jiayijing. "Xiong" means chest; "Xiang" means village or gathering place. Located in the chest and hypochondrium, this point is where Spleen Meridian qi distributes to the chest cavity – hence the name Xiongxiang (Chest Village).
