Indications

Abdominal pain, hernia, cholera, and uterine prolapse.

Precise Location

In the lower abdomen, 4 cun below the umbilicus, 0.7 cun above Chongmen (SP-12), 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Location Method

Sit upright or lie supine. Bring the five fingers of the right hand together with the thumb on the umbilicus – locate the position at the lower edge of the little finger below the umbilicus as the base point. Turn the right hand downward with the thumb at this base point – the point is where the lower edge of the little finger falls. Use the same method to locate the left point.

Massage Method

Straighten and bring together the index and middle fingers, bend the remaining fingers, and knead with the finger pads – once each morning and evening, for 1–3 minutes on each side. Therapeutic actions: Strengthens the spleen and regulates qi, disperses nodules and relieves pain.

Efficacy & Actions

Ancient texts record various locations for this point: the Zhenjiu Jiayijing states "3 cun below Fujie"; the Leijing Tuyi states "3.5 cun lateral to the midline"; the Yizong Jinjian states "0.7 cun above Chongmen"; the Zhenfang Liuji states "directly above the breasts, 4 cun lateral to the Ren Mai on both sides." If experiencing abdominal pain or hernia, massage of Fushe can be helpful. This point belongs to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian and is the meeting point of the Spleen Meridian, Liver Meridian, and Yin Wei Vessel. It strengthens the spleen and regulates qi, disperses nodules and relieves pain. It is a commonly used point for treating abdominal and reproductive system disorders. First documented in Zhenjiu Jiayijing. "Fu" means mansion or storehouse; "She" means dwelling or lodging place. This point is where Spleen Meridian qi pauses and gathers – hence the name Fushe (Mansion Dwelling).
