Indications

Precise Location

On the vertex of the head, 1 cun anterior, posterior, left, and right to Baihui (GV-20) – four points in total.

Location Method

Sit upright or lie supine. First locate Baihui (GV-20, at the intersection of the midline of the head and the line connecting the tips of both ears), then measure 1 cun anteriorly, posteriorly, left, and right – four points.

Massage Method

Press and knead the four points with the pads of the index and middle fingers, or gently tap the vertex from the center outward with both palms, for 3–5 minutes per session, 1–2 times daily. Therapeutic actions: Calms the spirit and stabilizes the mind, clears the head and brightens the eyes, revives the brain and opens the orifices, and calms the liver and subdues yang.

Compatibility

Insomnia: Combine with Shenmen (HT-7) and Sanyinjiao (SP-6). Headache and dizziness: Combine with Taichong (LR-3) and Fengchi (GB-20). Dizziness: Combine with Baihui (GV-20) and Taichong (LR-3). Forgetfulness and childhood hyperactivity: Combine with Xinshu (BL-15) and Shenmen (HT-7). Hypertension: Combine with Quchi (LI-11) and Taichong (LR-3).

This is an extraordinary point located on the vertex of the head. Four points surround Baihui (GV-20), like four spirits guarding the head – hence the name Sishencong (Four Spirits Acuity).
