Indications
Dispels wind and activates blood, expels parasites and relieves itching, clears heat and drains dampness. Treats urticaria, eczema, skin pruritus, perineal and lower limb skin ulcers/eczema, ascariasis, abdominal pain due to parasitic infestation, rheumatic pain, and scabies.
Precise Location
With the knee flexed, on the medial thigh, 3 cun above the medial patellar base – 1 cun above Xuehai (SP-10).
Location Method
Sit upright or lie supine with the knee flexed. First locate Xuehai (SP-10, 2 cun above the medial patellar base at the prominence of the medial head of the quadriceps), then measure 1 cun (approximately 1 finger-width) directly upward. One point on each side.
Massage Method
Press and knead with the thumb pad for 3–5 minutes per session, 1–2 times daily – a local sore-distending sensation is optimal. Mild-warm moxa may also be applied for 10–15 minutes per point. Therapeutic actions: Dispels wind and activates blood, expels parasites and relieves itching, clears heat and drains dampness.
Compatibility
Urticaria: Combine with Quchi (LI-11, needling with reducing technique) and Shenque (RN-8, cupping). Pruritus and eczema: Combine with Xuehai (SP-10), Sanyinjiao (SP-6), and Quchi (LI-11). Perineal skin ulcers/eczema: Combine with Ligou (LR-5) and Sanyinjiao (SP-6). Ascariasis and parasitic abdominal pain: Combine with Zusanli (ST-36), Zhongwan (RN-12), and Tianshu (ST-25). Rheumatic pain: Combine with Yanglingquan (GB-34) and Zusanli (ST-36).

This is an extraordinary point located on the medial thigh, 3 cun above the medial patellar base (1 cun above Xuehai / SP-10). It dispels wind and activates blood, expels parasites and relieves itching, and clears heat and drains dampness. It is an experienced effective point for treating skin disorders and parasitic infections. First documented in the Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. "Baichong" refers to various parasites; "Wo" means nest or gathering place. This point treats parasitic infections and skin itching, expelling various parasites – hence the name Baichongwo (Hundred Insects Nest). It is also known as "Chongwo" (Insect Nest). Baichongwo is an experienced effective point for treating skin disorders and parasitic infections, with good therapeutic effects on urticaria, eczema, pruritus, and intestinal parasitic infections. It is often combined with Quchi (LI-11), Xuehai (SP-10), and Zusanli (ST-36).
Contraindications
Located on the medial thigh muscles – needling depth should be carefully controlled, generally 0.8–1.2 cun vertically. Moxibustion is permissible. Use with caution in pregnant women. For parasitic infections, internal anti-parasitic medication should be combined for comprehensive treatment.
