Indications

Location Method
Sit upright with the mouth open and tongue extended – the point is at the midpoint of the median sulcus of the dorsum of the tongue.
Massage Method
Use sterilized gauze to hold the tongue, gently press and knead the median sulcus of the tongue dorsum with the thumb or index finger pad for 1–3 minutes. Alternatively, gently brush the tongue surface with a clean toothbrush to stimulate the point. Therapeutic actions: Clears and disperses wind-heat, dispels pathogens and opens the orifices, disperses lung qi and stops cough.
Compatibility
Diabetes insipidus: Combine with Haiquan (EX-HN11), Yongquan (KI-1), and Shuiquan (KI-5). Central aphasia: Juquan (needling toward the tongue root) combined with Tianzhu (BL-10) and Fengchi (GB-20). Stiff tongue with difficulty speaking and white tongue coating: Combine with Waiguan (TE-5), Guanchong (TE-1), Zhongchong (PC-9), and Chengjiang (RN-24). Asthma, cough, and chronic cough: Combine with Feishu (BL-13), Tiantu (RN-22), and Tanzhong (RN-17).
Efficacy & Actions
This is an extraordinary point located at the center of the dorsum of the tongue. It clears and disperses wind-heat, dispels pathogens and opens the orifices, and disperses lung qi and stops cough. It is a commonly used key point for treating tongue and lung-related disorders. First documented in the Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. "Ju" means to gather; "Quan" means spring. Contraindications
Located on the tongue – strict disinfection is required to prevent infection. Needling angle and depth should be carefully controlled – avoid excessive depth to prevent tongue injury. Use with caution in pregnant women.
