Indications
Eye tumors (small growths on eyelids and around the eyes), epilepsy, menstrual regulation, and frigidity/low libido.
Precise Location
Located on the Stomach Meridian, at the center of the nipple.
Location Method
Place the index finger pad on the center of the nipple – that is the point.
Massage Method
① Massage: Grasp and squeeze with all five fingers from the periphery toward the center. ② Cupping: Remove the milky white particles on the nipple, then immediately apply cupping with a fire cup. Gently pinch and rotate the nipple with the thumb and index finger, or press with the index finger pad, for 1–3 minutes per session. Therapeutic actions: Regulates qi and awakens the spirit, regulates menstruation and unblocks meridians, enhances libido.
Compatibility
Epilepsy: Combine with Zutonggu (BL-66), Taichong (LR-3), Sizhukong (TE-23), and Ruzhong (ST-17). Disease overview: Epilepsy is a disorder characterized by paroxysmal abnormal neuronal discharge in the brain, causing motor, sensory, autonomic, and psychiatric dysfunctions. It can be classified into primary (idiopathic) and secondary (symptomatic) epilepsy. Massage sequence: During a seizure, before sending the patient to the hospital, family members can provide assistance. First massage Zutonggu on the little toe for 3 minutes, then press Taichong on the foot for 3 minutes, press Sizhukong near the tail of the eyebrow, and finally massage Ruzhong. Frigidity (low libido): Combine with Huiyin (RN-1), Huiyang (BL-35), and Jingmen (GB-25). Postpartum hemorrhage: Combine with Huiyin (RN-1).
Efficacy & Actions
If small bumps or growths appear on the inner corner of the eye or on the eyelids, affecting appearance or even vision in severe cases, massaging Ruzhong (the center of the nipple) once each morning and evening can provide good therapeutic and health-regulating effects. This point belongs to the Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian. It regulates qi and awakens the spirit, and enhances libido. In clinical practice, Ruzhong is primarily used as a landmark for locating other chest points and is generally not used for needling or moxibustion. First documented in Zhenjiu Jiayijing. "Ru" means breast; "Zhong" means center. Located at the center of the nipple – hence the name Ruzhong (Breast Center).
Contraindications
Ruzhong is generally not used for needling or moxibustion. It is primarily used as a body surface landmark for locating other chest points (such as Rugen and Tianchi). Massage should be gentle to avoid excessive stimulation.
