Indications
Protruding tongue, stomach pain, vomiting, obesity, poor appetite (anorexia), chronic gastrointestinal disorders, and gastric hemorrhage.
Precise Location
Located on the Stomach Meridian, in the upper abdomen, 1 cun above the umbilicus (center of the navel) and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Location Method
Lie supine or sit upright. Bend the thumb and little finger, straighten and bring the three middle fingers together with the fingers pointing downward. Place the first joint of the index finger on the umbilicus – the point is where the second joint of the ring finger rests.
Massage Method
Massage: Press and knead with the thumb or the palm root. Press vertically with the pads of the index, middle, and ring fingers, then pull outward and knead firmly – once each morning and evening, for 1–3 minutes per session. Therapeutic actions: Calms the spirit and soothes the mind, harmonizes the stomach and stops vomiting, strengthens the spleen and reduces distension.
Compatibility
Stomach pain: Combine with Zusanli (ST-36) and Huaroumen (ST-24). Disease overview: Stomach pain is a common clinical symptom, frequently seen in acute and chronic gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastric neurosis, as well as gastric mucosal prolapse, gastroptosis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, and cholelithiasis. Massage sequence: Sit on a chair. Place the right palm on the center of the kneecap and lightly grasp the knee. Extend the middle finger along the tibia – the intersection of the horizontal line at the middle fingertip and the extension line of the index finger direction is Zusanli – press for 1 minute; then massage Huaroumen for 3 minutes. Note: Hiccups, flatulence, bowel movement, or mild diarrhea during massage are normal reactions. Irregular menstruation: Combine with Sanyinjiao (SP-6), Shenshu (BL-23), and Mingmen (GV-4). Rectal prolapse: Combine with Guanyuan (RN-4), Qihai (RN-6), and Tianshu (ST-25).
